Due to recent events!

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having an awesome start to summer.Unfortunately, our summer doesn't start till after the 4th of July here in Washington State :( But atleast we don't have any seriously dangerous and nasty creepy crawlies to really worry about lol!!

Anyhow, today I read a blog post by Enchanting Cosmetics (you can find it here ) about a bad experiance she had with an Indie polish maker and I thought this would be a perfect time to show you all some failure's we've had.

First, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, it truely means alot!
Second, making polish isn't just throwing pigments and/or glitter in a clear base, shaking it till you have given it shaken polish syndrome (lol) and naming it.It takes a lot of research, patience, passion, practice and money.I won't get into the amount we have spent and lost on this but trust me, it's been frustrating.

Here are some pics,

As you can see these are super fails!! We didn't have the right base and when we did it was to thick for my liking so we quit trying with these.
We are working with some pigment's but they have to sit for quite a while so we know they will stay suspended. Also they have to be something I would use/buy myself.
We have also made a one of a kind polish that was a prize for my first giveaway back in April that my husband made for me.I loved it so much I had to have him make it again for my winner and the first 5 people who purchased our polishes got a little sample of it as well because I had an extra bottle just sitting here.
We continue to test our polishes for your safety and ours.I keep 1 of every batch we make for myself on my polish shelf so we can monitor the glitter's/base and so we have some idea of what the shelf life will be.

I would also like to add that we were going to re-use old bottle's because it keeps cost down and it is better for the enviroment BUT it was to much of a pain in the butt and I didn't like it. So we got all new bottle's.
Even with all the labels, boxes, bottle's and fails we still didn't want to up our price because we want to stand true to raising awareness for Scoliosis and Shriner's Hospitals for Children not to pad our wallet!
We want to assure you that we have taken every measure to ensure a quality polish that we can be proud of.If you have any questions or concernes please contact us at Shawnzangel98@gmail.com

Sorry for such a long post but we felt it was necessary given the Indie drama lately!
Thank you for reading :)

Sorry about the spelling I am in a hurry to post this :P

  2. I have purchased a lot of Indie polish, and I have been very fortunate that I have not had any major problems with any of the polishes or sellers I have purchased from. But I've heard some horror stories from others about several different indie brands that go beyond the quality control issues. I am very impressed with your "full disclosure" post about your testing. Kudos to you for being proactive instead of reactive. Can't wait for your next re-stock!

  3. Thank you for taking the time to post all this info.
Besides it being very interesting for me as a buyer and not a maker, I think it can give a great idea for those who actually do try to create their own polish for sale about the amount of work, time and money they have to put inside before they can see any profit.
i wish they will all get to read this post and our life in polishland will be so much more fun and drama free.
