My Breast Cancer Awareness Nails :)

Hi everybody!!

Ok so I know I'm a little late to the party (better late then never right??) but I wanted to show you my nails anyway!

Here are my BCA nails!

                                                          Left hand

                                                       Right hand.

My husband was out running some errands when he found this lone rose on a bush at our son's apartments and brought it home for me! He said "Last rose of the year for my beautiful rose" Awwwww, isn't that sweet!! I love him!
Anyway, since it's pink I thought it would make a great prop!

Here are some shots of the rose :)

While roses aren't my favorite flower, it's still very pretty!!

Ok, on to the polish!
I used WnW Wild Shine Tickled Pink, Maybelline Color Show Crushed Candy (which I hear is a BL Disco Biscuit dupe and she stains like a mofo), OPI I Lily Love You ( Thank you Anne for finding this!) and Sonia Kashuk Smoke and Mirrors.
I also used some BCA nail tattoo's that I got from Jen's Nail Files! Thank you Jen :)

There ya have it. My late BCA nail's! Maybe next Wednesday I will have them posted on time!!

What do you think? Did you do BCA nail's? If so post them on my wall, I would love to see them!

BTW just an FYI my favorite flower is Tiger Lily's :) Whats yours?

LA Splash Makeup review!

Hi everyone!

Sheesh it seems like it's been forever since I have posted!!!  I'm so sorry, please forgive me!!

Anywho, today I have a different kind of post for you all. I hope you aren't to disappointed since this is a nail polish blog and this is definitely not polish related!!
LA Splash was kind enough to send me some of their products for review, unfortunately they accidentally sent me makeup :(  It's ok though, I like makeup too (even though I don't wear it much)!!

I hope you all don't mind but I used my 10 year old daughter as my model! These color's are just to much for my whiteness and I seriously looked like a clown :(.
Now before anyone gets upset, we do NOT allow our 10 year old to wear makeup on a daily basis. My daughter's and I have dress up night's a couple of times a month. We all do each other's hair and I do the makeup and they usually put on a fancy dress and we have a little party. It's a lot of fun!!

Now on to the pics!!

I used both eyeshadow duo's they sent me!

Glamourous Shadowduo in Magic Lamp and Madagascar
Liquid Metallic Eyeliner in Teal Mania and Lip Plumper

Now for the review!! I did use it on myself so I could do a proper review. But Like I said above it was to much for my pasty whiteness! Being part Native American ( Santee Sioux ) my daughter is a lot darker then me!
The eyeshadows were highly pigmented and application was super easy. I didn't have to use a primer or  cake it on to get the color to show up which is nice. I loved the way it blended nicely together too so there weren't any harsh lines.

The eye liner was also easy to apply and highly pigmented. Very nice for a metallic. I love the color of it too!

The Lip Plumper unfortunately made my lips sting and burn so bad I washed it off immediately and it was still burning the next day :( . It felt like I rubbed green chillies or jalapenos all over my lips :( So we couldn't use that one.

LA Splash is a cruelty free brand! You can find out more about them and their products here.

Overall I was pleased with the performance of their makup and would definately buy more and recommend it to anyone looking for low cost makeup! I really want to try their polishes!!

I'm not sure where you can find these in store's as I haven't seen them at any of mine but you can purchase them online here.

I almost forgot!! Out kitty Bebe was watching me take pics of my daughter and wanted in on it! So here is a pic of one of my fur babies!

Isn's he adorable?!?!

What do you think of my first makeup review?
Have you tried this brand? If so what are your thoughts about it? Let me know in the comment
                   section below!!

                    Thanks for reading!!

                                                                   TTFN,

** The products used in this post have been sent to me by the company for my honest opinion. In no way was I forced  or persuaded to give them a positive review**

A lovely review from a very special guest!!

Hi there! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Jen of Jen's Nail Files on Facebook. The wonderful Angel has wragled me into doing a guest post for you today. Now Keep in mind I am NOT a blogger, so it's taken a week for me to write up what I'm suppose to say. :) I hope it doesn't drive you all away! :)

What I have for you today is my favorite finish, a holo!! :)
Here is the beautiful Nubar Reclaim. I bought this on Amazon but you can find it on ebay and other e-tailers as well. Nubar Reclaim is a green linear holo.
All the pics show 2 coats with Seche Vite on top.

(taken outdoors in the shade, please excuse the little fuzzy on my pointer)

Even in the shade you can see a little bit of rainbow!

And now for the rainbow goodness of sunlight...

Now, just doing a holo is pretty wonderful, but this is my FIRST EVER blog post, so I had to do more!  How about a holo accent nail?  What's the best possible holo??

You guessed it - China Glaze OMG!!  This is the best silver holo I own.  And want to talk about opaque?  This is OVER the Nubar!  Two coats and perfection.

But wait... I can't just stop there and leave ya hanging, can I?  No art?  No fun?  That's not me. :)  I bought some decals from Inspired Nails.  Cute little full nail decals with koala bears on them.  The greens went nicely together so why not?

The instructions say to put decal over white or light shimmer.  Holo is a shimmer, right? :)  Guess again!  It did work, but the holo kind of took over and overwhelmed the decal.  Still cute but I will definitely do it over a creme next time.

As you can see, the koala bear kind of disappears which is really too bad because it's a darling image!

So, learn from my mistakes, do NOT put water decals over holos - unless that's the look you're going for, obviously. :)

You can get these decals and SO many more designs at www.InspiredNails.com and check out their facebook at www.facebook.com/inspirednails

Thank you for sticking with me all the way down to here!  I love you all! :)  As I part, here's a pic of the little guy who was supervising all the pics I took for this post. :)

Thanks again and happy polishing!!

~Jen
